Why sticking to local services isn’t always the best?

On social media I see so many people asking for the best “local” trainer/walker/sitter/boarder, all because people aren’t willing to travel to cater for their dog. When I say “local” we are talking immediate areas.

I’ve had many enquiries for training where people don’t want to travel 5 minutes to another local destination, and that is by no means an exaggeration. However I’m a firm believer that if you want something you make it happen. Theres buses, taxis, Ubers, friends, family, you can walk. There’s plenty of ways to get to venues if you’re not able to drive yourself.

For me it’s a large concern that people don’t have a way of transporting their animals to places, what happens in the cases of an emergency?

Anyway! Getting back to my original blog point, going for “local” doesn’t mean you’re getting the right match or the best quality. It means you’re getting potential convenience.

You may find a trainer who doesn’t match your values, someone you don’t get on with, someone who cannot handle your dog, or has no experience with the breed.

Finding a trainer who matches with you require and want from a trainer is extremely important, as important as researching your dogs breed before purchasing I would say.
