Exercising your bitch in season.

This can be a controversial subject but in reality it should be a bit of common sense.

So not only can the increased hormones in your bitch cause issues within herself, but it can cause chaos around her. But the bottom line should be keeping your bitch safe.

The same as with us women when a dog is in season it changes their hormones and can cause "mood swings" as such. During their season they will experience a range of "feelings", they can be increasingly grumpy, or flirty, or sensitive, or seek more attention. This can all happen within the comfort of their own home.

Out and about it could cause them to stray, or run away if they aren't kept on a lead. Vice versa it can cause entire males to search out the bitch in season. This in itself can be dangerous, a dog can run for miles to find a bitch in season to "do the deed". The surges of hormones could increase the chance of dog fights. You also run the risk of your bitch getting accidentally pregnant.

It is important that when we walk a bitch in season that they should be kept on lead, and kept to quieter walks. It's about keeping her safe during this time period.
